The Bank of England issued British Pound banknotes in 7 different denominations, including this Bank of England 5 Pounds Sterling banknote (Elizabeth Fry). They are part of the withdrawn Bank of England banknotes series. The Bank of England started issuing these 5 British Pound banknotes in 2002. They were withdrawn from circulation in 2017.

The banknote of five pounds features the portraits of Queen Elizabeth II and Elizabeth Fry, English social reformer. The £5 paper note contains the words ‘Bank of England’. Unlike the older £5 note the new version has a holographic foil patch on the front side, showing an image of Britannia.
